There were also three type of stampings used on the Ford GPW, it is unclear as to why or which dates they were used. So Ford Jeeps from February to March 1942 used Willys chassis but were numbered using the Ford system stamped in the rail.

The Ford GPW chassis number is stamped on the frame on the drivers side and can be seen from inside the engine bay.
Both are at the front end of the chassis, the Willys MB chassis number is on a small plate attached on the inside of the frame just behind the bumper on the drivers side.
